Annabel Lee

Audio Literature OdysseyI narrate the haunting poem “Annabel Lee” by Edgar Allan Poe on my podcast Audio Literature Odyssey. In this poem the narrator mourns the loss of a woman he dearly loved. He believes that envious angels took his love from him, but he will not allow death to part them.

“It was many and many a year ago,
In a kingdom by the sea,
That a maiden lived whom you may know
By the name of ANNABEL LEE;—
And this maiden she lived with no other thought
Than to love and be loved by me.”
