Henry Wadsworth Longfellow was born in Maine on February 27, 1807. He was a professor, linguist, and poet. His works include the first American translation of Dante’s Divine Comedy and numerous poems, including: Paul Revere’s Ride, The Song of Hiawatha, and A Psalm of Life. Longfellow died in Cambridge, Massachusetts on March 24, 1882.
